We love going to SCV cos it is probably the only vet clinic that our dogs like to go to (i.e. they don’t run away at the sight of the door and are actually excited to get in until they see the table). However, we were a bit suprised in the last time. We went originally for shots. Then Doctor Louis asked how they were going and we mentioned that both Monica and Chandler had recent diarrhea and we’ve already given them ProKolin for 3 days so they were getting better. We asked what else could be done and we were told to give them bland food if we havent already (which we have). And we mentioned bringing them to a new dog park as well which we were told that they might have picked up some virus and if we are concerned and the diarrhea doesnt get better then we can do further tests. A couple of questions which we answered whilst he was mixing the medicines for their shots and we didnt expect to be charged for. We’re happy to pay it but worse, we couldnt even claim it with their health insurance as the consult fees were added in the middle of the day, hours after we’ve claimed and paid for the vaccines. Our health insurance provider cant do two different claims in two days is what I have been told. So knowing that there are consult fees upfront plus having them claimed at the same time could’ve saved us a bit and also some warning would have been good.
