Letty is a veterinary student at the University of Sydney, pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She is passionate about animal welfare and health and is determined to dedicate her life to this cause. Letty is currently volunteering at Southern Cross Vet and is eager to gain experience and contribute to the team. She hopes to raise public awareness about stray animal care, especially in developing countries, and ultimately open a mixed practice farm in Adelaide.

The support team is an often overlooked part of veterinary practice. While they aren’t often front-facing and many of our clients may not meet them all, they are vital for providing the highest level of care. They are all selected for the dedication to animals as well as their technical skills.
Nurses are being scorned for being late with medicine, and yet they are holding their bladder because they don’t have time to use the restroom, and starving because they missed lunch. They’re being peed on, puked on, pooped on, bled on, bitten, hit, yelled at and are missing their family while taking care of yours. They may even be crying for you. The minute you read this, nurses all over the world are saving lives.

Having over 13 years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Nurse, our head nurse, Rechainne brings not only technical and practical knowledge but also compassion to our clinic. Reichainne’s favourite part of her role is managing the pre and post anaesthetic plans of our surgical patients to make sure they have the most smooth recovery possible. Rechainne has 3 cats who she waits on hand and foot and 2 beautiful chickens who are all very much part of the family

Cindy has been with Southern Cross Vet for 10 years and is known for her caring, compassionate nature and her dedication to helping sick, injured and neglected animals. Inspired by her grandfather, who worked as a veterinarian in Vietnam, Cindy pursued a career in animal health and has been making a difference ever since. Outside of work, she shares her home with her 2 rescue dogs, Meika (a Whippet × Cattle Dog) and Luca (a Border Collie), along with her rescue cat, Saber, who was adopted from Southern Cross Vet.
Nurse Jonatas
Jonatas is a veterinarian from Brazil with over 11 years of experience. He moved to Australia to pursue his love of beaches, wildlife, and the Australian climate. Jonatas currently works as a Veterinary Nurse at Southern Cross Vet while preparing to become a certified veterinarian in Australia. He has two dogs and a lizard, and enjoys snorkeling in his free time.
Nurse Bruna
Bruna is a passionate animal lover who joined Southern Cross Vet after completing her veterinary studies in Peru. She currently works as a veterinary nurse and is excited to become a certified veterinarian in Australia. Bruna enjoys the collaborative environment at Southern Cross Vet and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of animals and their owners.
Nurse Maria
Maria has always been passionate about animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the veterinary field. After graduating from La Salle University in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2008, Maria moved to Australia to pursue her veterinary career. She has gained extensive experience in both emergency and general practice nursing and is known for her compassionate and dedicated care for all her patients. Maria also has a deep love for wildlife and is currently studying Wildlife Treatment at Taronga Zoo.

Nurse Nicole
Nicole is a qualified veterinary nurse with over 20 years of experience in human nursing. She joined Southern Cross Vet after transitioning from her career as an RN and loves working with the dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Nicole has always had pet dogs and cats and currently has two rescue cats, Henry and Sage, adopted from Southern Cross Vet. In her free time, Nicole enjoys reading, watching British crime dramas, and ballroom dancing.
Nurse Hernan
Hernan grew up in Curuzu Cuatia surrounded by animals and discovered his passion for veterinary medicine. After completing his veterinary degree in Argentina, he moved to Australia to pursue his love of nature and new experiences. Hernan joined Southern Cross Vet and is now working as a Veterinary Nurse while preparing to obtain his Veterinary Revalidation in Australia. In his free time, Hernan enjoys studying, socializing, playing sports, swimming, surfing, and spending time in nature.
Nurse Muhammad
Muhammad is a Veterinarian from Pakistan who arrived in Sydney in 2023. He is currently working as a veterinary Nurse at Souther Cross Vet while preparing for his Veterinary Revalidation exam. In his free time, he likes to explore Sydney and loves trying out new cuisines and food.
